Jump Starting Creativity

DIY Photography has a nice piece about jump starting your creativity…useful if you get into a photographic funk. The author starts, “I teach a kids photography class twice a week. In Digital Photo Challenges, my eager group of students range in age from 12-17, and are some of the most creative people I’ve ever met.” He asked the students for suggestions about creativity. Here are some of them:

  • Enter a photography contest
  • Rent a new lens
  • Write a bucket list
  • Look at photos and figure out why you like them
  • Do a photo essay
  • Shoot something new
  • Print something
  • Join a group critique
  • Learn how to adjust settings without looking at the controls
  • Go for a walk
